I am currently off for Spring Break and as luck would have it, Dan is also off this week. The first two days Dan and Bennett went ice skating, one day to open skating and the next to stick and puck to help prepare Bennett for Thursday...his first hockey practice!!! This is the day Dan has been waiting for since Bennett was born. Hopefully it will go well--keep your fingers crossed.
Today we decided to go to Jeepers at Great Lakes Crossing. On Wednesday's they have unlimited rides for $5 (and we only have to pay forBennett-BONUS!) Apparently, the rest of the world had this idea as well. It was the perfect way to spend a rainy day if you like crazy crowds of children running everywhere!! Bennett didn't mind at all. He and I had gone over Mid-Winter break and it wasn't too bad. Back in February, he would only ride the roller coaster with me, refused to ride the little train (kids only, no adults allowed) and he played in the soft play area.
He wanted nothing to do with the bumper cars or flying bananas.
Today was a different story. He rode the bananas over and over again. As soon as he got off, he jumped back in line to go again. He did ride the coaster, but only once with Dan (the line was crazy long so we didn't try again). Before we left he decided he would try the bumper cars (we couldn't ride together--that was his hesiation).
Today, he decided that he was going to take me down. He even rode a second time by himself.
We took a bit of a break from Jeepers at one point and walked around the mall a bit. Bennett wanted to go into Bass Pro Shop. He liked looking at the fish, going inside the tents and then there were the boats...he probably spent 20 minutes running from one pontoon boat to another and was all sweaty when we finally told him it was time to move on. Maddie was happy sitting on the boat, waiting for her big brother.
During a wait in line I was checking Facebook on my phone and it mentioned something about the CARS 2 tour, but I could not get any further infomation (at that time). One the way back to the car Dan noticed a truck with State Farm and the Cars 2 logo on it and then I told Dan what I had seen on Facebook. With everyone settled into their seats in our car, I investgated further and found out that indeed the Cars 2 tour was there at GLC as we sat. We unloaded from the car and found the VERY LONG line!!!` About 90 minutes later, we had our pictures taken with Mater, Finn McMissile and Lightening McQueen!! Bennett was chosen to play a game and won a Radio Disney water bottle (but sad that he didn't win the grand prize of a Stuffed Mater). He also was given a pair of sunglasses and a color changing pencil.
